This project was aimed at designing and installing information signage in an attempt to make the general public and visitors aware of the various heritage buildings and heritage areas in Delhi.
INTACH Delhi Chapter entered into a dialogue with Delhi Tourism and other government and private agencies for this project in 2002. Finally in January 2005, with a grant of Rs. 33 lacs from Delhi Tourism, INTACH Delhi Chapter commenced work on the project, which was completed within a period of three months in April 2005.
Signs for about 197 heritage buildings and 32 heritage areas were installed. For congested areas the signs were constructed out of metal. For other areas the material used for the information boards was red sandstone.
